A Quick Note To Parents

All the Minichefs recipes are designed with child participation in mind. However children should always have adult supervision, espically near hot ovens, cookers and when using knives.

The key to successful cooking with children is to be prepared. Make sure you have all the necessary ingredients and equipment for your recipe. Remember the kitchen can be a dangerous environment, never take your eyes off the task in hand, give 100% attention and do not get distracted. So the kitchen can be a safe and fun place to cook.

I cannot stress enough how strongly I feel about children learning the skill of cooking at an early age. Encouraging children to get involved with food preparation they are more likely to try different foods expolring flavours and textures, develop literacy skills by reading recipes and mathematical skills weighing and measuring. You will learn to love the quality time you spend with your children producing home cooked food without artifical additives and colours. So how many reasons do we need to get cooking....off you go and have fun!
